As your lawn, tree & pest management professional, we take great pride in taking care of your property. Our staff is certified and licensed through the state of Oklahoma to apply chemical products to your lawn and landscape. We use high end quality products and we manage scheduling for timely applications. But did you know that you also play a key roll in making the most of the applications that are being applied?
All of our applications are going to be most effective when watered in thoroughly. In addition, following a regular watering schedule gives your lawn what it needs to stay healthy. Warm season grasses generally need 1 to 1.25 inches of water per week. During the hot months of summer Fescue lawns will require 1.5 to 2 inches of water per week. Normally this is best achieved by watering fully one day per week. This provides a deep irrigation which encourages healthy root growth.
A regular mowing schedule is also going to be a key factor in maintaining the look of the lawn along with assisting weed control products to be most effective by delivering a final blow to weeds that have been weakened by chemical products. Mowing should be done often enough so that no more than 1/3 of the leaf blades are removed in that mowing session. Mowing off more than the top 1/3 of the leaf will leave the lawn looking brown until the lower level of the leaf blades are able to green back up.
